High Cost of Government Critique by Rhode Island Official
Robert M. Goodrich of the U S Public Expenditure Council urged Rhode Island to cut state overhead and restore local control. He argued small population drives high unit costs and pointed to longtime jail conditions and the payroll of state and local officials. He urged retaining more tax money locally to improve relief, streets, and highways.
