Teachers Present Proposal for New Bristol Salary Schedule
The Bristol Teachers Association presented a plan to simplify and improve the current salary schedule with an estimated cost under 11,000. The proposal grows base pay to 2100 after 12 years, adds a 200 bonus for those under six years, and proposes special provisions for pre primary and first grade teachers and a master’s degree incentive in increments to be staggered by the School Committee.

Community Christmas Plans Climax with Civic Events
The Community Christmas Observance committee at Legion Hall outlined a rapid buildup of lights tableaux and a large tree donated by Harry DeW. Allen to be erected on the Common. Electricians will set up decorations, stages, and broadcasting of carols from Oliver School from Thursday evening, with trees and lights on nightly through New Year’s Eve. A 1000-voice chorus is planned for the Sunday carol service.
