Bristol Town Council Special Meeting Minutes Overview

Town Council held a special meeting with President Benjamin M. MacDougall and three members present. Frank Paull absent. Dr O J Hasbrouck of the school committee asked to direct police as truant officer for pay. Council declined citing law. school committee to elect officer with compensation. Proceedings covered fire station electricity, railroad commuter rates, and pole painting requests to Providence Telephone and Bristol County Gas and Electric.

Rhode Island endorses LeBaron Colt for Senate

A 60 member Rhode Island business leaders committee met at Narragansett Hotel Providence to back Judge LeBaron B Colt for the United States Senate. Former Governor Brown praised Colt citing his fitness, experience and public service, urging Republicans statewide to support Colt through a petition to the General Assembly.

Successful Supper and Sale at G A R Hall

A turkey supper and sale organized by the Epworth League and Ladies Aid Society of the State Street M E Church drew social and financial success at G A R Hall. Various booths were run by named local families with items like fancy articles, cake, ice cream, and a chowder later in the evening. A limited number of turkey suppers were offered for those with leftovers from the night.
