Local fire ordinance grants strong enforcement powers
Providence enacts a new fire prevention ordinance to be enforced by the Fire Chief or a designated official. Inspections occur twice yearly with remedies for violations. Appeals go to the Town Council within ten days, and penalties reach twenty five dollars per violation with each ten day delay treated as a new offense. Copies will be filed in the Crown Clerk’s office.
