Merchants Oppose One Side Parking Plan on Hope Street
Thirty seven Hope Street merchants opposed the Town Council plan for one side parking between Washington and Constitution Streets. Led by Maynard F. Teachers urged higher pension contributions, raising the annual fund grant from $500 to $1,500, and increasing pensions from $300 to $500 after a staged rollout. Michael Securo was elected to the Retirement Fund Board for three years, and a $5 health bond was approved for the tuberculosis drive.
