Trinity Church Choir Musicale Promises a Treat for Lovers of Music

The Trinity Church choir announces a musicale next Tuesday evening at 8 in the parish house. The program features vocal and instrumental numbers including Liberty Bell, Come Down to Kerry, Rose in My Garden, and works by Burleigh and Matthews with solos, duets, and instrumental trios. Mt Hope Bridge Co Buys More Land At Ferry Hill

The deed for a land transfer in Ferry Hill was filed in the Town Clerk’s office. Charles C Marshall and wife Esther B Marshall transferred 17 lots west of the Mt Hope bridge and south of Summit road to the Mt Hope Bridge Company. The company previously condemned about 6 to 10 acres and now owns all land previously held by the Marshalls.

Warren Odd Fellows Meet and Cup Presentation

Delegates from Lint do Brothers Lodge No 1370 attended a district meeting with Amity Lodge in Warren. The silver cup donated by Frank VC Maxwell of Warren for athletic contests was presented to Amity Lodge Warren. District Deputy Winfield S Wright and his officers presided. The event included remarks, entertainment, and a collation.

Bristol duo cited in federal liquor law violations

Two Bristol men Adolf Ferreira and Antonio Mello were named among 270 informations filed in the U S District Court at Providence. Ferreira faces charges of possessing property used to manufacture liquor and of manufacturing and possessing spirits. Mello is charged with possessing liquor. Both are ordered to appear for arraignment in Providence federal building on December 14 at 2 PM.

Poll Tax Lists For Italians Incomplete In 1928

In the tax office an unusual situation exists as many Italian born or descended residents have not filed for the 1928 poll tax. Three enumerators were appointed by the Town Council to compile lists, but Langello declined the post and a replacement was not found. Only the lists prepared by Freitas and Easterbrooks have been assessed so far. In 1922 Carmine Matsano listed 648 Italian extraction residents.
