Dreadnaught Hook and Ladder Opposes Floor Contract

A meeting of the Dreadnaught Hook Ladder and Hose Company directed its Board of Engineers to oppose a concrete floor contract for the fire station unless the entire floor area is covered. Spokesman Oscar Rishe said bids were too low to pay for full coverage. Oliver J. Lemaire noted the $5500 town funds were insufficient. The group urged a halt until adequate funds are secured and a reply from Chief Guevremont. The Board will review Hydraulion and Dreadnaught bids Monday. Dreadnaughts named nominating officers for their January 5 annual meeting.
