Man Loses Right Hand at Mount Hope Sproinag Plant
Walter Ethher of 465 Child Street Warren suffered a severe accident Monday in the carding room when his right hand was drawn into a roller. Dr Horace Sea mour provided first aid and he was taken to Truesdale Hospital where his wrist was amputated. Ethier formerly worked at Hotel Belvedere and his father died in a coal unloading accident at Seth Paull Company last year.

Successful Lawn Party by American Legion Auxiliary
The fourth annual lawn party hosted on Mrs Frank Paull’s lawn at 649 Hope street drew many attendees. Home made cake candy punch tea and sandwiches were sold. grab bag and white elephant table activity were popular. Despondent Boston Man Leaps From Providence Towboat
Warren B Thomas a 50 year old Boston man believed despondent over ill health leaped from the Fall River Line steamer Providence early Tuesday. His body found about Mt Hope Bay by two Bristol men and Capt Paul A Herzig. Death attributed to heart disease and exhaustion. He left a coat and paper bearing his name and a checkbook from Augusta Trust Company in Maine. Burial planned in St Marysville Maryland.

Bertram W Wall national exec of the American Legion sails from Boston to Liverpool then London and Paris to attend the convention Sept 19 to 23. He will cast a wreath for William Horst Kearnes and place flowers on Bristol boys graves in France. Afterward he will visit Nice Monte Carlo Genoa Rome and other sites before returning on the Jervis from Southampton Oct 11 to New York Oct 17.
