William M. Fischer of New York captures the Trotter Cup for the second consecutive year at the Excelsior Tennis Club on Silver Creek courts. He defeats Arthur Ingraham Jr. in straight sets 8-6 6-1 6-0 to claim the men's singles title and ninth overall title in the county tournament.
Sunday results from the Duset League show West Barrington and Execusor Pennis Club tying for first after three wins from Matter in four matches. Alden Estes beat NC Obeary 6 3 6 4, Robert Woodelson upended HB Meroll 7 5 6 8 6 4, and Bovanton won 6 1 6 4 for Bristol. Boynton and Cleahy defeated Estes and Merril 6 4 7 5 6 3 in doubles.
Antonio Pereira aged 23 of Kama Street and Maria Cabral aged 25 of Congrega tional Street both of this town filed marriage intentions.

Judges included George Po Brien and James Fo Sullivan with prizes presented by Philps Morris.
Clerk John Jo Lonergan presided at the North Castrut Court session with Judge Hammill absent. Quintal pleads not guilty to violent assault and is continued. Warnings and continuances issued for charges including carrying a concealed weapon and indecent exposure. Non support cases Dewitt Polster and McKenzie continued for weeks.
Miss Rose Svi who is to be married on September 5 to Joseph Garcia was guest of honor at a miscellaneous shower hosted by Mary Garcia and Mary Sviata at Mrs Anna Sviata’s home 22 Bradford Street. A mock wedding, rose petals, gifts, and a musical program with dancing followed.
Marriage notice for Miss Anne MacNaught of Seattle and J William Sutcliffe of Providence, held today at the bride’s home in Seattle. The couple left for a bridal trip to Vancouver and plan to reside in Providence after September. Sutcliffe is a World War veteran and longtime Kearney Post No 6 member and orchestra leader.
Coming events note a Wednesday August 24 bridge and dance at the Bristol Yacht Club house under the Excelsior Tennis Club auspices.
Rose Gallagher and Marjorie Burgess were hurt when their car left Old Meadow Road and struck a tree in Rehoboth. Gallagher suffered a facial cut and injuries to the knee and shoulder. Burgess had a scalp wound and shock. Driver Alexander Barshivitch and Edward Maher escaped with minor injuries. Both women received care at Dr Conway’s office. Burgess later moved to Rhode Island Hospital.
Brig Gen I H Callan announced the banking group led by Withiam H. Compton Company and Peabody Houghtering & Company Inc and the New York firm Robinson & Sterman will handle surveys and soundings. The bridge will link the town near Ferrs road to Portsmouth with most activity at the Bristol end.
