Local marksmanship team heads to Camp Perry matches
Capt Henry Hambrick Capt F Edward Bullock and Capt Ralph Bennett departed for Providence joining seven State Civilian Rifle team members en route to the National Rifle and Pistol matches at Camp Perry Ohio August 23 to September 13. The event features 95 contests with about 20 000 in cash prizes 3500 in medals and trophies worth 50 000 and draws marksmen from across the states and possessions. The matches open Monday with sessions for small arms firing school police school and junior school.

Youth jailed for stealing boat in Mt Hope Farms incident
Arthur Rodriques seventeen of 8 Jewel avenue was arrested Wednesday evening by local police for stealing a skiff from Mt Hope Farms. He and two other youths allegedly rowed away after cutting the mooring rope. Rodriques claimed it might be a boat he lost previously.
