Indoor Outing for Brotherhood After Rain at Ferrycliffe Farm

Inclement weather forced St. Michael's Brotherhood to relocate from the noon event to the Parish House. A 1:30 chowder, 5:00 buffet by Arthur Duffy, and a sports program followed the farm visit. Miss Mildred Newman impressed in pipe race. Ralph Church won. Muriel Ashton led women in loud singing. various contests crowned multiple winners. Committee included Hiram A. Rounds and Rev Anthony Parshley.

New York Boys Entertained At Camp Takarest

Seven boys from New York joined by 13 more at Camp Takarest enjoyed boating swimming and other sports hosted by George Patthorpe's Sunday School Class of St Michael's Church at Richard Hodgkinson's cottage near Toumsset Point Chowder was served at noon and a bake prepared by Art Wood assisted by Gallagher Pereira left little leftover.

First Baptist Church Evening Prayer Service

The regular mid week service will be at 7 45 in the vestry tomorrow evening with Mrs Harold Pedley as leader and her subject The Sewing Circle.

American Legion Entertains Soldiers' Home Veterans

Rhode Island Soldiers Home veterans and guests enjoyed a Sunday program by Bristol Warren and Newport Legion Posts and Auxiliaries. Local officials and veterans led the event with solos, monologues, and a dance revue featuring Nora Dwyer Vernon Gray Louise Quartaro and others. The arranging committee included Mrs Ella Paull and Mrs William Pierce with Miss Hope M Cote at the piano.

Olympian Club Outing at Sousa Farm with Races and Wins

The Olympian Club and guests traveled by motorboat and sail to Sousa's Farm on Portsmouth's east shore for an annual outing. Events included dashes, sack and wheelbarrow races, ball tosses, tug of war, and a baseball game won by the married team in extra innings. Winners in both men's and women's contests are listed with participants and patrol captain Foxy Marshall chaired the sport program.

Red Cross Life Saving Classes Conclude With Awards

The local Red Cross branch completed two weeks of Junior and Senior Life Saving and swimming courses at the Public Bath House. Emblems were awarded to top performers.
