Bristol Board approves Dreadnaught Fire Station extension plan

After a lengthy executive session the Bristol Board of Review approved the erection of an extension for the Dreadnaught Fire Station at Church and High Streets. The session also granted two other hearings and held one in abeyance, with fire engineers and local opponents presenting arguments.

Swimming Tests Near Town Beach Final Week Season

Bristol parents with children in incomplete swimming classes at the Town Beach are urged to ensure their kids attend final tests next week, the season's last week. Vincent Securo, water safety director, says Miss Lucy Newton, roving beach supervisor, will assist with the program.

Tennis Tourney at Town Beach heads to finals

Bristol hosts a Town Beach tennis tournament with senior finalists set for next week after quarterfinals. Martin Biancuzzo defeated Mike Burns 6-2 6-2, while John Miranda beat Biancuzzo 7-5 6-3. DiMauro and Checko advanced in senior semis. junior semifinals featured Proto over Bullock 6-3 7-5 and Commette’s 6-3 6-0 victory.
