Storione Nears Visit Ends In Italy Sailors To Take Leave
The Storione crew expects a month of leave in La Spezia after arriving on Sept 25. Capt Giacchetti, with 18 years in service, may join Naval HQ in Rome while Lt Casini to command a small frigate based at Augusta Sicily. Casini survived the Roma sinking in 1943 and later served with the Allies. A lengthy donor list honors those who funded crew entertainment including Brightman Massano Della Morte Falugo and many others.
