James Thomas Robertson a longtime Herreshoff machinist and engineer died unexpectedly at 71 at his 40 Constitution street home after showing weakness in his garage He was a native of Fall River and had worked for Herreshoff from 1879 to 1927 later advising on yacht machinery He held IOOF and St Michael's Church roles and is survived by his wife Ida Waldron, a son Edwin and a granddaughter Funeral will be from his home tomorrow afternoon.

Battery C Sees Marksmen At Rumford Target Range
Officers and men of Battery C 243rd Regiment C C HD qualified as marksmen at the State Rifle Range in Rumford on Sunday. Their commander Lieut Edward Clark recovers from appendicitis at Jane Brown Memorial Hospital. His wife gave birth to a son last Friday morning. Corporal Eugene Moura and Private Harry Barron have enlisted in the U S Army and left Providence for Fort Winfield Scott San Francisco. Both were key members of the 10 inch gun crew.

The regular monthly meeting of the School Committee was held last evening in the Colt Memorial High School library with four members present. It voted to purchase a cash register for the cafeteria and discussed matters to be laid over until the September meeting. Bills were passed for payment. The committee was in session about a half hour.
