Henry Durtis of Providence College pitched for the soldiers, giving up nine hits while seven errors by his teammates kept the score close. Mt Hope Bridge Tragedy Claims Third Fall Fatality
Leopold Lahaie aged 55 of Fall River died after a 10 foot fall from scaffolding on the Mount Hope bridge Portsmouth side. He suffered a fractured skull and was taken to Truesdale Hospital where he died at 1.30 pm. Lahaie worked for the Foundation Company around the pier cofferdam.
