Rhode Island Red Cross to Demonstrate Swim at Town Beach

Carl Slader, Rhode Island Red Cross Swimming Program director, will give a water demonstration at the Town Beach on Thursday August 24. Vin cent Securo, local swimming director, says more events will complete a full day program. Registration for the Hog Island to Bristol swim closes Tuesday August 22. entrants must be 16 or older. Playground director Anthony E. Agatiello considers entering and aims to challenge Bernard Almeida for the crown.

Kearney Post Favors Wage and Price Controls

Bristol's Kearney Post of the American Legion urged Congress to authorize President Truman to control wages and prices and to restore price levels to 1940 parity.
