The Bristol Beach Committee recommends adopting the Beattie plan for a town beach in Rockwell Park with a 40 by 225 foot main area and a 20 by 225 foot enclosed swim zone. An appropriation near $30,000 is urged with a special town meeting if the proposal is approved. A minority report favors an above ground pool known as the Bintz Pool.

Three Men Escape Serious Injury In Waterfront Car Crash
An automobile carrying three men overturned after jumping a stone wall at the Asylum Road waterfront entrance. The driver, John J Fleet, 45, of Riverside, blamed blinded visibility and a jammed left wheel. All occupants suffered only minor cuts and scrapes. Twenty four women at Reynolds School Canning Center produced fifty appointments in three weeks as part of a wartime program. Items canned included beans peas chard beets carrots peaches blueberries raspberries chicken and lobster. Mrs George Magee called the drive a major home front effort essential to guarantee supplies. Mary Foster of Peck Avenue celebrated her 91st birthday with tea and cake and received many cards and gifts as family noted her long life and community support. Foster’s granddaughter Gertrude Foster of Quincy visited. Frederick Foster returned home after visiting his mother.
