The Employed Boys of Shoptown defeated St John's Warren 3 to 1 in a well contested Sunday bout at Bliven Field. Warren loaded for victory with a seventh inning surge helped by Regnere and Lanoue, while Bristol’s LaFlamme and Cirillo provided the lone Bristol tally and late defense. Next Sunday Pawtucket Tigers visit Bliven Field as the local club eyes a league showdown.

Indicted Rhode Island trio over bromine plot in Senate

The Grand Jury indicted William C. Pelkey John T. Toomey and William Murray for conspiracy to assault Lieutenant Governor Felix Toupin and the Rhode Island Senate by plotting to place a bromine gas bomb in the Senate Chamber on June 19. Bail was set for two witnesses. pleas possible October 6 if not guilty.
