Bank securities returned after Curran misused assets

Leo B Curran a Bristol branch teller admitted taking about 20000 dollars in high grade securities to cover margins with William Pappas Co and J J Hackett Co. The Industrial Trust Company recovered all assets and stated no loss to customers. Curran held multiple local posts including School Committee secretary treasurer of the Fire Engineers and Knights of Columbus.

Junior Tennis Tournament Postponed to Morning at Silver Creek

The Excelsior Tennis Club junior tournament delayed from yesterday will start at 9 am on the Silver Creek courts. Drawings for 24 entries were held Wednesday with pairs including Harold Payson and Tom O Connor, Perry Payson and Margaret Morris, and others. The Featherdie Tennis Club of Fall River meets Excelsior tomorrow at 2 30 again on Silver Creek courts.

Women’s College Brown University to build new auditorium

A campaign for a new building at the Women’s College Brown University began last winter to provide a proper auditorium with a permanent stage and alumnae offices. Undergraduates pledged over 18 000 with strong support across classes and a graduate drive spans 20 districts led by a three member committee plus college leadership.

Bristol Highlands Improvement Assn Holds Annual Meeting

Edwin S. Godfrey was re elected president for the fourth year at the Bristol Highlands Improvement Association annual meeting and officer election held Wednesday night at Godfrey's home. Samuel C. Cottrell was named vice president Lincoln C. Barber secretary and Benjamin F. Lindsey treasurer. Twenty five members attended as welfare and improvement of the Highlands were discussed.
