Bristol Man Wins Merited Promotion in Providence Post Office
William D McCaughey of Bristol has been commissioned foreman of letter carriers by the Postmaster General and starts new duties in Providence after a career as a Bristol edgewood district carrier. He served in the U S Army 1917 1919 and returned to postal service in 1919. He lives at 19 Marion Avenue Providence and is a former Bristol basketball standout. He married Mary Smith of Newport in 1917 and they have one son.

Charles H. Francis appeared in the Fifth District Court on May 26 charged with larceny of an American flag. He was released under a two month deferred sentence and, in yesterday's session, discharged by Judge Frank H. Hammill upon payment of costs.
