Farewell Tribute as 34 Soldiers Depart for Camp Dix
A large Bristol procession escorted 34 men departing on the 8 20 train for Camp Dix. The group included Bristol, Tiverton, Barrington, Barrington, and Providence contingents with Red Cross and local bands. The men received cakes, sweaters, tobacco, and government fire insurance guidance, with a roll call at the State Horse Grounds and a 10 55 p m departure for Wrightstown.

Man Arrested For Head Injury Assault On Evening Route
Joseph Almeida was arrested early Saturday on charges of assaulting Joseph Pachio at 1:30 am as Pachio returned from work at the National India Rubber Co. Almeida pleaded not guilty, bail set at 700, case moved to Fifth District Court, Almeida failed to appear, writ issued, bail raised to 1000, Pachio severely injured requiring a physician's care.

Bristol Boy Wins French War Cross For Gallant Service
Harry K. James, son of Mrs. Samuel C. Dimond of Bristol, received the French War Cross for bravery under heavy fire while serving in the ambulance corps in France since last August. He and 10 other American ambulance men were cited for aiding wounded near enemy lines. Before volunteering, he worked for Providence photographer David Davidson. Several letters he wrote home have appeared in the Phoenix.
