A three act divine drama The Modern Prodigal drew a good size crowd at State Street M E Church vestry last evening. The Wonder Willing Workers presented a large cast headed by Father Oliver Blaisdell and Ruth the Angel with Miss Caroline Starkey as Cousin Kate and Fred Palmer as The Prodigal Son. Between acts music by local students and a reading complemented the program. Refreshments followed.

Mrs Annie Hoar 68 widow of Frank L Hoar and sister of ex Governor William L Douglass died at Rhode Island Hospital from pleurisy ending in pneumonia. Born in Plymouth Massachusetts she lived here many years. Her husband is deceased and she leaves two daughters Mrs William McKay of this town and Mrs Ida Servant of Pawtucket plus four grandchildren. The body will be brought here this afternoon.

Successful Minstrel Show At Pastime Theatre
Dreadnaught Hook Ladder and Hose Company presented a Tuesday evening minstrel and vaudeville at the Pastime Theatre to a large audience. The Colt Memorial High School Glee Club gave its first public concert in the school auditorium before a good sized audience. The program featured choruses, quartets, and solos with solid training under director Miss Emma L Wardell. Thief Tries Gas Meter Robbery Sparks Explosion
A late Monday attempt to steal 25 cents from a Fortis restaurant gas meter ended with a screwdriver breach of a gas pipe and an explosion after a match was lit. The thief fled through a rear window, leaving fabric and clothing snagged on a nail. police have yet to identify the suspect.
