Registration Planned for Sugar Rationing in Town

Plans are set to register sugar users nationwide with four day town wide registration May 4 to 7. Supt. Mapes leads the effort with volunteers helping teachers after 2 pm. Registrations will occur at Reynolds Gulleras Colt high schools by district. Each family must list members and exact details for ration books.

Urges Dog Owners Not To Wait Until Last Day

Town Clerk Tohn Wo Church urged dog owners to register now and not wait for the last three days to avoid extra fees. He cited last year’s late rush with 61, 70, and 72 licenses filed on April 28 29 and 30, noting long lines and delays to other office work. The office is open 9 am to 12 noon and 1 pm to 4 pm.

Excelsior Tennis Club Plans Patriotic Summer Tournaments

The Excelsior Tennis Club votes to continue normal activities during wartime and to host three Red Cross benefit tournaments on Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day. Colt High Opens 1942 Baseball Schedule in Burrillville

Colt High starts its 1942 interscholastic baseball schedule Friday with a game against Burrillville on Burrillville ground. The first home game is against Warren next Monday.
