Crab and Lobster Fishing Boom on Hog Island
The crab industry is lively with strong catches while lobsters are scarce. Mat teo Castigliego of the 40-foot Father and Sons reports up to 4000 crabs in a day, as Keday Castigliego captains the boat. Boatyards boast sturdy pots, costing around 75 dollars per set. Hog Island gains residents like Henry Brouillette building driftwood cabins, and Bristol County Shellfish Co. expands quahog unloading with a new rig.
