Daylight Saving Time Begins In Local Town
Daylight saving takes effect next Sunday at 2 a.m. and runs until September 25. The town is among 14 adopting the change and others may follow. The New York New Haven and Hartford Railroad will keep EST but align schedules to daylight time. Set clocks forward one hour Saturday night.

Bristol Town Council Considers Highway Bond Sale Conditions
At a regular meeting the Bristol Town Council heard a law firm report saying highway bonds cannot be sold below par at 5 percent. The Sinking Fund Commission warned against current sales but bonds may fund road work to Bradford and Wood streets with about 20,000 from a 100,000 bond issue. Other actions included permits for events, a lease renewal, memorial care, and road repairs with allocated funds.
