Character Building Through Family Worship Sermon

At the Kearney Post No 6 American Legion meeting in G A R Hall last night Senior Vice Commander W E Flanagan led committees named for Memorial Day Graves Registration and support for the junior baseball team. The group planned to attend District No 2 convention in Providence on April 28 and a reception for Department Commander Charles Woolley at Edgewood Yacht Club on April 29. A minstrel show was discussed and members joined the Auxiliars in a whist party after the meeting. The next post meeting is Friday May 1 in AR Hall.

Illustrated Lecture on Passion Play by Rex Grattz
The second of two lectures on the Passion Play will be given by Rex Grattz in the DeWolf Memorial Chapel Sunday at 7 30 PM. The illustrated lecture uses scenes from the 1930 play and an English translation of the text. Grattz saw the play last August.

The U12th anniversary of Odd Fellowship was observed last evening in Odd Fellows Hall with a program of exercises followed by a social period. Members of United Brothers Lodge and Wampanoagan Catohment attended, with Miss Pauline Brelsford giving the welcome, a one act play "A Lady to Call" starring Pauline Brelsford and Lillian Brosseau, songs by Miss Aude res Munro and others, and addresses by Rev George H Toadvin Jr. Refreshments were served by the arrangements committee led by Mrs Anne Seymour.

Sebastio Correira of 2 Buttonwoods Street was found guilty of assault with a dangerous weapon after an August hatchet attack on Manuel Mello in Bristol. Judge Charles Walsh sentenced Correira to five years in State Prison, noting severe injuries and prior drinking, with Correira waiving appeal.
