He confirms serving in the Battle of Iwo Jima, resting now in a camp, and recounts a near miss with his pack shot off his back. He hoped to find Bristol friends among the troops but none were seen.

The Made In America exhibit opened at Colt Memorial School drawing adults and many pupils. Group I showcased home furnishings and Linden Place photos while Groups II to VI displayed China objects, porcelain ware, American daily life items, a lady's dress and related tools. Ninth and senior high pupils acted as junior guides and hours run 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. with possible second evening planned.
