Amended Tax Returns For 1957 Ample Time Allowed
Taxpayers who find errors after filing 1957 returns may file amended forms. If additional tax is due and paid by April 15, 1958 no penalty accrues. Amended returns can change deductions from standard to itemized and may yield further refunds. The window to claim refunds extends up to three years from due date or two years from tax payment, whichever longer. The last applicable year for refunds is 1954. Rhode Island Heritage Week runs May 3 to 11 with events statewide including Pettaquamscutt Rock dedication on May 11 and candle light university events. Governor Roberts urged public participation and recognition of historic landmarks.

The award includes a metal howitzer cannon cap device and a Legion membership card in the Howitzer Club signed by National Commander John S. Gleason Jr.
