Bristol Police Commission eyed to curb local politics
Editorial argues Bristol should adopt a police commission to take licensing and police power from the town council. It says the plan, already passed by the House, will prevent local political debts and ensure prompt handling of police and licensing issues. St Andrews Club Holds Annual Meeting and Election
The St Andrews Club met at St Michaels Chapel to elect officers for the coming year. George S Pailthrope was named President with Charles H Sparks as First Vice President and S Wesley Gladding as Second Vice President. Alfred C Koch became Secretary and C Wilfred Clarkes Treasurer. The Rhodes Island League board members and committees were announced, and Mrs William P Gladding presented a silk flag to the club through the Woman's Relief Corps. A salad supper followed the meeting.
