Funeral services for Mrs Minnie McCoy Puperai were held Thursday at St Joseph's Church officiated by Rev Thomas Harrison. Burial followed in Calvary Cemetery. She died Friday at her sister's home in Peoria after living there three years. Born April 20 1868 in Jubilee Township she married Thomas McCoy fifty years ago. Surviving include her husband ten children and many grandchildren.
Mrs Amelia Farnum a longtime Elmwood resident died of a heart attack at her home on Monday. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church with Rev M J Hall officiating and burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery. She was born January 20 1850 in Sommerton England and came to America with her parents settling near Oneida Knox County before marrying George A Farnum on November 14 1871. A longtime member of Elmwood Methodist Church Rebekah Lodge 319 and the Eastern Star, she was preceded in death by her husband and daughter Grace Price Bosley. She is survived by son Charles G Farnum of Peoria and other relatives Brimfield.
Millbrook Grange hosts a wiener roast on October 15 at 4 o clock one mile east and north of Laura near the Spas Ror bridge. Local residents are invited to attend and enjoy food and camaraderie.
The Illinois Library Conference will be held at the Pere Marquette hotel in Peoria from Thursday to Saturday, October 25 to 28. Exhibits and speakers are planned including Ralph Mann director of Carnegie Library at Pittsburgh and president of the Americas Library Association.
