The public is invited to view the very complete and handsome residence on wheels and many will take the chance to inspect its features.
George H. Church of Peoria suffered a broken breast bone and a dislocated neck vertebra after being struck by a car near the labor temple in Peoria. He remains at Methodist Hospital in serious but resting condition with a two week plus expected stay. His daughter Mrs Leo Lint and her husband visited the hospital, and the car driver aided by bystanders transported him to his home before hospital admission the next day.
Peoria County reports 2035 recipients of Old Age Assistance with total payments of 21048 dollars and an average of 13.29 dollars per person. Downstate counties show varying averages, Cook County leads with 36640 dollars, while Putnam has 124 beneficiaries and Washington 322 beneficiaries at 9.9 dollars per person.
Dr Charles Truman Wyckoff retires as dean of Bradley College this year and at the fortieth Convocation exercised Monday presented the college with a gift of 23000 the largest gift since the founder Mrs Lydia Bradley. 19000 will be set aside for scholarships 1000 for books and history research materials while the remainder funds history study efforts.
Large crowd fills Peoria high school's auditorium for Peoria county rural and village schools commencement. About 600 graduates from townships attend music and recitations with State Superintendent John A Wieland delivering remarks. Township honors go to Brimfield and Jubilee representatives with highlighted students named from multiple schools.
A jolly carload including Edith German Carrie Coon Louise Waitaker Minne Coon and Mildred German visited Garel Bell and roother in Elmira Sunday evening.
Elmwood resident Thomas Wilkinson spent last week with Billy Schaffer while Billy Shaffer visited his brother Paul in Galesburg. Centenary events drew family from Knox College and Peoria. The 52nd French Grove festival raised 3129 dollars. Local attendees from Washington to Chicago praised the program and society thanked contributors.

A six team county kittenball league begins its summer schedule at the Kickapoo diamond. Games will be played on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The Farm Bureau sponsored team is managed by John Johnson. other teams are backed by the Producers and the Coun.

Clark Beiderbeck visited near Chicago to see Brookfield Zoo. Corliss Laisure and children drove to Tr s2 Oklahoma with furniture for Merie Carter. Pam Noland Jr and Claree with grandma Mrs Pearl Couch at Me Sterling. Mrs Raymond Koeer and Mrs Ben Knueer attended Leo Kueer graduation at University of Illinois. Robert Smith Everett Barrett attended the Lottman and Appleby wedding at St Joseph Brimfield. Charles Bacon and daughter from Lamont visited, Bacon returned Sunday. Mrs Bacon stayed longer. Alan Dunivant June Alan of St David spent weekend at Atha Dunivant and attended Brimfield wedding. French Grove supper attended by R P Carter, Harold Geilvin, Frea Jones, Harriet Reed, Paul Noland and family.
Director Fred McKinnes reports Friday's meeting set starting two flutes two to three trombones three or four clarinets and possibly one bass and one bass clarinet. Tryouts are Friday 1 to 4 pm. Concert planned in H S gymnasium Thursday evening July 1. The Charlies Kingdon family hosted a pot luck for Mrs Kingdon's birthday with Walter Clark Floyd Nordwall Clarence Exena Arthur Ekena Earl Collins and families as guests.
Ruth E Appleby and Edmond F Lottman were married Saturday morning June 12 at St Josephs Brimfield Illinois. Rev Thomas C Harrison officiated in a church adorned with pink peonies. The bride wore white satin with pearls, maid of honor Margaret Appleby in pink silk net, and the groom and attendants in white. A wedding breakfast followed at the bride’s home and the couple planned a short wedding trip. Appleby is a teacher and Lottman works for Peoria County Service Company.
Miss Reaka Peters daughter of Mr and Mrs Harry Peters married Carl Schmidt Saturday after noon at three o clock. The ceremony occurred at Kickapoo and the couple will reside there after the marriage.
A Thursday afternoon shower for Mrs. Ivan Johnson drew about sixty five guests at Mrs. Walter Rayfield home. Hosts were Mrs. Rayfield and Margaret Purcell. Guests from out of town included Mrs. Robert Shoemaker and Marjorie, Mrs. Marion Comingore and Roth and Jeanne of Monmouth, Mrs. Fred Epley and Doris, Miss Jorda Johnson of Princeville, Mrs. Elmer Pierson and Dorothy and Wilma Jeanne of Dunlap, Mrs. Raymond McGrath and Betty June, Mrs. Ralph Buskirk, Mrs Doyle Clark of Wyoming, Mrs Donald Buskirk of Los Angeles, Mrs Eldon Buskirk and children of Toulon, and Mrs. Wilbur Tucker of Joliet.
Brimfield High School Alumni plans a banquet in the school gym on Wednesday June 30 at 7:00 p.m. Committees named by J Donald Best include program ticket Menn and decorating with members from the 1937 graduating class to be honored.
