Display Ready Residence on Wheels Opens to Public

Trailer on show as paint and brushes lie around inside a mobile home built by Chalmer Fornéy. It will be on Mais Street near the park ready for occupancy this Saturday night. The public is invited to view the very complete and handsome residence on wheels and many will take the chance to inspect its features.

George Church Injured in Peoria Street Accident

George H. Church of Peoria suffered a broken breast bone and a dislocated neck vertebra after being struck by a car near the labor temple in Peoria. He remains at Methodist Hospital in serious but resting condition with a two week plus expected stay. His daughter Mrs Leo Lint and her husband visited the hospital, and the car driver aided by bystanders transported him to his home before hospital admission the next day.

Over 2000 in Peoria receive Old Age Assistance

Peoria County reports 2035 recipients of Old Age Assistance with total payments of 21048 dollars and an average of 13.29 dollars per person. Downstate counties show varying averages, Cook County leads with 36640 dollars, while Putnam has 124 beneficiaries and Washington 322 beneficiaries at 9.9 dollars per person.

Dean Wycoff Presents Gift To Bradley College

Dr Charles Truman Wyckoff retires as dean of Bradley College this year and at the fortieth Convocation exercised Monday presented the college with a gift of 23000 the largest gift since the founder Mrs Lydia Bradley. 19000 will be set aside for scholarships 1000 for books and history research materials while the remainder funds history study efforts.

Large crowd fills Peoria high school's auditorium for Peoria county rural and village schools commencement. About 600 graduates from townships attend music and recitations with State Superintendent John A Wieland delivering remarks. French Grove Hosts Centenary Festival and Visitors

Elmwood resident Thomas Wilkinson spent last week with Billy Schaffer while Billy Shaffer visited his brother Paul in Galesburg. Centenary events drew family from Knox College and Peoria. The 52nd French Grove festival raised 3129 dollars. Local attendees from Washington to Chicago praised the program and society thanked contributors.

H S Band Starts Fine New Class

Director Fred McKinnes reports Friday's meeting set starting two flutes two to three trombones three or four clarinets and possibly one bass and one bass clarinet. Tryouts are Friday 1 to 4 pm. Concert planned in H S gymnasium Thursday evening July 1. Marriage of Ruth Appleby and Edmond Lottman at St. Josephs

Ruth E Appleby and Edmond F Lottman were married Saturday morning June 12 at St Josephs Brimfield Illinois. Rev Thomas C Harrison officiated in a church adorned with pink peonies. The bride wore white satin with pearls, maid of honor Margaret Appleby in pink silk net, and the groom and attendants in white. A wedding breakfast followed at the bride’s home and the couple planned a short wedding trip. Appleby is a teacher and Lottman works for Peoria County Service Company.
