Kiwanians Elect Dr Ernest F McGregor District Governor

New England Kiwanis chose Rev Ernest F McGregor PhD pastor of the First Congregational church at Norwalk as district governor at the final session of their four day convention in Bridgeport. Hartford’s Benjamin Allen won lieutenant governor for Connecticut. other divisions named leaders from Massachusetts New Hampshire Maine and Maine towns. Convention to be held in Swampscott Mass attracted about 700 attendees.

Police seize dynamite in attic amid liquor bust at Kossuth Street

Bureau of Investigation troops raided 893 Kossuth St hunting for liquor. They found four sticks of dynamite, a loaded Automater pistol, and rifle shells in attic room rented by Pietro Tallo, 50, who was arrested for breach of the peace. Dynamite and shells were kept for court display after transport to police HQ. Tallo, once employed by J M C company, offered no comment.

An anonymous letter promising to shed light on the murder of Dr A William Lillien dahl near here led Frank Harrold to Newark. Investigators plan an intensive search of the area around the crime scene for the pistol believed linked to the slaying. W A Mootre, former Cameo theatre manager and Bridgeport resident, was arrested on a warrant charging embezzlement. Bond denied. he awaits arraignment in City court. Evangelist to be held for bigamy in multiple cities

Columbus Georgia dispatch says William T. Gleer of the Gloer detective agency wrote to Charlotte North Carolina police seeking a warrant for bigamy against Rev William Jordan. A woman there claims she married him August 19 1945 as Emma Landridge of Washington. Additional alleged marriages cited include Roanoke Virginia Winona Minnesota Akron Ohio and one via long distance telephone prior to a Charlotte ceremony. Missing Teacher, 20, Found Dead in Cemetery

Leigh Huntley, a twenty year old school teacher who disappeared a week ago, was found dead at Calvary cemetery near Newton City line. He died by suicide, shooting himself with a .22 revolver. His father Willard Huntley, from Claremont, N H, had joined the search and had been nursing rheumatism and homesickness.

German Aviator Reaches Angora in Record Flight

Lieutenant Otto Koennecke arrived at Angora from Cologne after a flight of about 18 hours in the Junkers Germania. He outlined a planned route to the United States via Bears Beslepotamie Senees Oocotta Shanghai Tokyo Tsand Alaska San Francisco Mexico City and New York, with crew Johan es Hermann and Count George Cedric Sols Laubach.
