Fare Raise Only Partial Solution
Lucius 5 Storrs, president of the Connecticut company, says a ten cent trolley fare is only a partial solution and that a full fix awaits actions by the next Legislature. He notes unpaid taxes must be addressed before any fare reductions, and that the firm will stop the old commuters’ ticket bonus, moving to monthly tickets at two and a half cents per mile. Daily commuters on monthly passes will continue, others pay single fares.
