CHAMBERSBURG Pa Oct 24 Joe Keyes 72 years old who in 1876 was alleged to have killed his common law wife and fled to the mountains and who was captured only four months ago committed death by own action early today by jumping from a second story window at the county home after eluding authorities for forty four years. Keyes returned to his old home last July and was arrested. The grand jury had failed to indict because the original indictment had been lost and witnesses to the alias were dead.
