Night Watchman Beaten at Hamilton Livery Stable

Herbert Newcomen, the night watchman at 224 State Street, reports being badly beaten at the Hamilton livery. He sustained head lacerations and possible fractures to two fingers. He says a man nicknamed Poker, with two friends, demanded entry, was refused, then forced his way in and assaulted him with a brass object before escaping through a window. Police informed and a report filed.
