Crane Co Worker Struck By Train at Street Crossing

Patrick Lyne a Crane company employee aged 40 of 572 Wark avenue was killed by a switch engine at the Washburn street and Traniglan avenue crossing yesterday at 2 PM as he paused before the locomotive. Police have not determined a motive and there were no witnesses. The body was sent to the city morgue following the investigation.

Man Arrested After Offering Judge Whiskey in Court

Stanley Copeland was arrested in Federal Court after attempting to present Judge John R. Hazel with a quart of whiskey on the bench. The judge struck the gavel as the bottle and holder were escorted out by two U S marshals.

James B. MacFarland a Bridgeport collector for Dutee Wilcox Flour company was arrested in New Haven on a suspected embezzlement of about 3000 to 4000 dollars. Auditors work on books, bond set at 5000 dollars, hearing in City Court scheduled for tomorrow.
