Salvatore Gaetani, 90, confessed to shooting Joseph Gimigliano, 33, at 125 Sherman Street, claiming self defense. Police say Gimigliano fired first, Gaetani remains hospitalized, and one gun tied to the case has been found while the other remains missing.
Roy H. Malcolm of Milford Vernon was arrested in Stamford City Court on an embezzlement and forgery warrant issued by New Haven on behalf of the Beneficial Loan Society. He was returned to New Haven for arraignment while others connected with the case remained free on bail. Hearings were continued to Wednesday.

In Chicago a federal trial opened naming Mrs. Herbert Votan of Washington, sister of the late President Harding, as the chief witness in the government lease against Col. Charles R. Forbes and contractor J. W. Thompson. The defense secured access to 60 government witness lists and began jury selection.
A jury trial in Superior Court opens over a deed dispute involving Sidney G. deKay and Shorehaven Realty Co. The plaintiff claims the survey mis-stated land areas limiting a driveway and pier, seeking correction and damages. The Realty Co. contests the alleged errors.
Moe Casper of New York, co owner of a cloak and guitar shop at 1342 Main Street, is held on $5000 bond as investigators probe a late Saturday night blaze in stock rooms above the store. The business opened eight months ago by Casper and Harris B Feinberg of New York.
