London reports Britain to send a full division to Egypt with artillery air forces and tanks amid a British ultimatum over the Sir Lee Stack murder. Cairo cabinet divisions and pending resignations cloud brief crises as British troops move to safeguard interests and demonstrators rally in Cairo.
Fire Chief Daniel Johnaen will open an investigation into a blaze at 1342 44 Main Street Saturday night that threatened clothing stock in two areas. Chief John Pion stated investigators smelled gasoline while firefighting and noted two gas jets left open, suggesting incendiary origin. Two firemen were injured, but property damage remained minimal.

Mexican dispatches say Charlie Chaplin secured a marriage license on October 14 and plans to wed Lita Grey in Empalme near Guaymas. Grey and her mother arrived in Guaymas last Friday, with Chaplin possibly traveling from Los Angeles to join them.
Final reports on the Bridgeport Community Chest drive show volunteers working toward a $360,000 quota for humanitarian work. After Saturday the shortfall stood at about $87,643, with pledge cards expected to reduce the gap to $20,000 today. An anonymous donor gave $500 in memory of Rev. James B. Nini.
A man and four boys escaped injury when a vehicle hit the Ox Hill reservoir gate on North Main Street, overturned in the water, and all five passengers crawled to safety. Lulius Marozas, 83 Caroling Street, was blinded by oncoming headlights, causing the crash. The group fled unharmed.
A fog bound collision thirty miles south of Cape Hatteras tore the four master schooner Perry Setzer in two. Captain A J Wilson of Fairhaven Mass was killed. Eight crew were saved by the tanker Solona as the damaged hull listed heavily and drifted after the collision.
The Sousa family was driven from their home at 68 Lexington Avenue just after 1 AM when fire broke out in a barber shop operated by Manuel Melle within the same building. Surfo ur, Va. Nov. 23 The finer City of Montgomery, operating New York Savannah service, collided with an unidentified schooner off Diamond Shoals during a sixty mile gale yesterday. It had not been heard from since reporting the accident hours after the crash. The probable schooner Penny Setzer was found abandoned by the Solana, later in tow by the tug Joseph D. Wood until she broke away in the storm. The Setzer’s crew were aboard the Solana when the Port Montgomery report reached port. The tug reached port after great difficulty and its wireless was out of commission.
The body of Onofry Toupast of 189 Howard Street New London was found hanging from a tree in Wehegan Park this morning, about a week after he left his car parked nearby. The car had been reported four days earlier, and relatives from Oakdale located the body. No reason for his death was given.

A quarrel aboard the oyster boat Supervisor moored near Norwalk ends with a man stabbing Bridgeport’s Plaski three times after he refuses a drink. The assailant fled, leaving officers unable to identify him. Plaski, recently widowed, is described as a Bridgeport resident with relatives awaiting word.
A Pasadena woman Ruth G Wilson and Ralph Hugh Jennison died instantly when their commercial plane collided with a second aircraft piloted by Lieutenant Leslie K Tranghber of the Army Air Service. Tranghber and his passenger VIN were taken to a hospital. surgeons said they had a fair chance to recover. Spectators reported the planes appeared to slide into each other, then fell 200 feet to the ground with wings locked. both airplanes were completely wrecked.
County prosecutor John R. Kingtom announced a hot trail in the Sheatsley case near Columbus, saying disclosure would be premature but growth by day’s developments encouraged him. He offered few details and promised more information when ready.
