Britain Offers Atom Material In Ike's UN Plan
At the United Nations in New York on November 16 AP reports Britain contributed 44 pounds of fissionable material to augment the 220 pounds from the United States for an international peace stockpile. British delegate Anthony Nutting announced readiness to provide 20 kilograms of material to fuel experimental reactors, as the seven-power plan to form an international agency proceeds amid debates with the Soviet Union on agency veto and UN ties.

Critics Unhappy But Not Queen Seeing Ancestors Raked In
London film night saw Queen Elizabeth II attend the royal premiere of Beau Brummell, a Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film about her ancestors. Critics ruled it dull and historically flawed, yet the Queen appeared unmoved. The event drew stars like Jane Russell and Shelley Winters, with light banter from Prince Philip about Marilyn Monroe.
