TREPASSEY Mayo 21 The Maryvale Mar yvale righted after striking Cape Freels near here. Four hundred thirty six passengers and crew landed safely as lifeboats and rafts carried people to shore. The vessel, 7121 tons, formerly Allan liner Carsicat, took on water but stayed afloat long enough to save most aboard.

A driver on Mabeste Wohy street was arrested after an incident on John Street in which a man was dragged under a car. He was not seriously hurt. examination at Merreny Hospital showed minor injuries. Witnesses reported the event to police, who learned the driver was speeding and charged him.
A snow slide swept down a mountain side striking the end of a Denver and Salt Lake tunnel between Corona and Disie Lake, Colorado. Two men were killed and several injured as the slide buried equipment and halted railroad work. The accident occurred today as crews labored on the tunnel inside the mountain.
