Chinese Waiter Blows Patrolman With Baseball Bat

William Dean a 26 year old waiter at the Canton restaurant on Cannon and Broad streets struck Patrolman Daniel I McPadden over the head with a baseball bat in the restaurant. The officer required 11 stitches and was nearly blinded as he dodged the follow up swing. Police later charged Dean with assault and he was held in city court on $200 bond.
