Boston June 16 figures show a general downward trend in telephone costs per station. Samuel F. Mittham, testifying for 137 towns and cities, urged a 12 percent rate cut at New England Telephone and Telegraph Co. He said cost per station in 1929 was 1302 dollars, down to 11 and 8 in 1924, predicting a saving of about a quarter of a million within a year or two with reorganizations after years of strike.
