Decker’s Charges To Be Overlooked
Assistant Secretary Roosevelt announced that Rear Admiral Benton C. Decker’s regent attack on Secretary Daniels and himself would probably be passed over as not worth bothering about. The plan was to avoid martyring Decker and to maintain discipline without public action. The decision followed recommendations from Admiral Coontz and Admiral Washington to permit the matter to pass unnoticed.
