Evans and Wells Cut Mears Globe-Record by Flight Route
A map depicts how Edward S. Evans and Linton Wells beat John Henry Mears long standing globe record by flying across Europe and Asia. They used planes for over 3600 miles, saving nearly six days, with only brief auto trips and one hydroplane flight when a ship could not dock due to fog. Roads, trains, and ships composed the rest of their journey from Paris to Omsk.
