Prisoners Caught Altering Vehicle Numbers in Ford Theft Ring

Four Bridgeport men Harold Goldy Nathan Goldy Samuel Lessitz and Frank Cleary were arrested and held on bonds in connection with an interstate theft and sale scheme involving over a thousand stolen Ford automobiles. Investigators found fourteen sets of dies to stamp new numbers and evidence of mutilated engines. Up to 1200 residents statewide allegedly purchased stolen cars unknowingly. more arrests possible as federal proceedings begin.

Stratford Jan 10 A unanimous Stratford school board votes to seek a $300000 bond to fund a school building program. The plan includes a new high school unit, a four room Nichols Avenue addition, and purchasing lots on Lordship and near Main Street. Mrs Olen De Koszeghy, 35, widow of Alex De Koszeghy, sues Max J Buechler of Ta4 Clinton Ave for breach of promise and seduction claiming he fathered her unborn child after promising marriage.
