Lordship Sunday school held its Christmas program Sunday afternoon at the Country club with holly and mistletoe decor. A three piece orchestra accompanied carols while primary and intermediate children recited and sang. Albert Harlow led bass solos, Mrs Ottaway and Mrs Vorx accompanied on piano and cello. Dr Milo C Burt spoke on Christmas Spirit and a benediction followed. The service included a gathering of donated food and clothing for a family in need. Sixteen attended the cortige. another entertainment is planned for December 8th at 7 p.m.

Weston December 24 Special to the Telegram Thomas W Treadwell of Lyons Plains was removed to St Vincent's hospital Friday after a month of illness with a serious condition. His daughters Mrs Ruthox of Elmhurst and Miss Marguerite Treadwell of New York City are trained nurses at the hospital caring for him. Mr and Mrs James Daugherty and their son Charles are spending Christmas with friends in Norwalk.

Weston December 4 Special to the Telegram. The Newfield School Christmas exercises featured recitations singing a play and a Christmas tree for twenty seven parents and friends. Miss Helen Budd organized the program with many pupils performing in acts such as Jack the Beanstalk Alice in Wonderland and Cinderella. Prizes awarded to Anson Toone for best worker and to students with perfect attendance since September. The school closed with a chorus and season greeting.

Funeral for Frank T. Cobb in Westport Cemetery
Frank T. Cobb's body was brought from New York City for burial at Willowbrook cemetery. About twenty five of Cobb's New York friends accompanied the funeral train and a floral loaded car. Nearly a hundred Westport residents gathered to bid farewell to a man who made many friends. Rev Edward L. Reed officiated at the grave as prominent attendees from New York and local circles paid tribute.

Elm City Man Saved from Jail Dinner Today
Fairfield December 24 Special to the Telegram Judge Clarence B Hall refused to suspend a five day jail term for George B Pollard of New Haven for operating an automobile while under liquor. Pollard filed an appeal with bond to avoid county jail over Christmas. He was arrested on the Poat road by Constable Arthur J Bennett after two bottles of alleged alcohol were found in the car. Oliver James pleaded nolle prosequi on a breach of peace charge. Seabury Lyon Jr of Stratford was fined 10 dollars and costs for driving without a license. A week continuance was granted in a liquor law case against John Alickulick.

In Vienna a Velasquez portrait of the Infanta Margaret was found in a storeroom at the Court Palace. The work, dated to 18th century, arrived at the Vienna Court in 1759 and is well preserved with edge damage.
