New Haven Holds Bridgeport Voting Machines After Election
New Haven still possesses Bridgeport voting machines loaned for the October election. SMALL BOYTSEN SURREY COLLIDE WITH AUTOMOBILE

The Hermit of the North End Dies at St. Vincent’s
John Hoffman known as The Hermit of the North End died at St. Vincent’s hospital after midnight from abscesses linked to exposure. Found unconscious in a field near his hut, he drifted in and out of recovery before passing. A Swiss-born Civil War drummer, he left little known history and appeared to have no local relatives. The body was handled by Cullinan & Mullins.
