George Chip Fails to Impress Critics in Racine Fight
George Chip, famed for a knockout of Frank Klaus, boxed Wim O'Neill in Racine Wisconsin last week and earned a verdict after ten rounds but failed to wow fans. Despite hard punching and willingness to mix, critics say he is not yet classy enough to rank with Jimmy Clabby Eddie McGoorty or Jack Dillon. Chip used a delayed uppercut and jabs sparingly, showing power when landings occurred but lacking a straight punch and consistent technique. He showed grit and a strong build, yet must improve to reach top middleweight class status.
