Cripple Creek Colorado December 3 two rescue crews of twenty men each began clearing debris in an adjoining drift to reach three miners trapped by a mine slide in the Golden Cycle Mine. Two heavy drills are pounding at six feet of rock between the stope and the drift while blasting is impossible. By noon it was hoped rock would be drilled away and crews come within forty feet of the victims as the interior slide continues to move.
