MIDWAY. We had a nice rain Monday. Health good, weather hot, boll weevils thick and everybody talking the senatorial contest. Those visited Hon. J. R. K. Walters Sunday were: Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Jackson and family, of Mayton, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Walters, Mr. and Mrs. Franklin, of Antioch, and Prof. D. T. Walters and family, of Antioch, Miss Maud Gates, of Newton, passed through our village Sunday afternoon. Miss Alma Walters attended children's day at Shiloh Sunday, and quite a crowd are anticipating attending at Johns Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Luke Walters visited Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Jones Sunday. Sunday school is progressing nicely at our school building. Let everybody come and help us.

White convicts strike at Rankin State Farm in Mississippi
Fifty two white convicts at Rankin State Farm eight miles east of Jackson walked off early Monday over claims of overwork and underfeeding. Sergeant McCoy reported the ringleaders are longtime inmates with murder terms. Superintendent J C Gathings investigated and restored order, with work resuming by Monday evening.
